11 Months Old

Our little mail man walking the mail to his mommy
Wow, don't you think I am getting big!

Here fishy fishy! Reid is in Las Vegas looking at fish in Caesars Palace
Riding on the airplane with my daddy
Using a spoon for the first time and eating mashed potatoes

11 Things WE Love About Reid

1. His Smile....he loves it when we make silly faces/sounds or peek our head through the side of his crib
2. Loves Reading Books ... At night before bed he has already caught on to the fact that if mommy keeps reading then I can delay going to bed. Favorite books Guess How Much I Love You, Brown Bear Brown Bear, and Where's Spot
3. Walking ... we have progressed into walking from room to room. He prefers walking now over crawling unless he is tired. This all happened when at camp he started to bear crawl, which we thought "wow he is a strong little dude, but one day he will not like them" Eventually he figured out how to get up by himself and start walking.
4. Loves Eating All Kinds of Foods... This month he was introduced to whip cream and vanilla ice cream. Due to his independence he preferred not to be fed with a spoon until he figured out that there was yummy ice cream on the spoon. He now is trying to learn to use a spoon...and his first entree that he ate when he used a spoon was mashed potatoes.
5. Handsome ... we love the oohs and awws we get when we dress him up in a hat and take him out, it is so fun!
6. Swimmer ... this boy has figured out that if he kicks and moves his arms that he can get around in the pool. His parents still keep him in his floatie but still...I was impressed that he has no fear of going under and actually loves the water.
7. Giggles ... he is ticklish all over and it is so fun to hear him laugh
8. Good Sleeper ... Reid still takes two naps a day and sleeps from 8pm-7am. We know this is a big deal and we feel blessed to get good rest.
9. Momma's Boy ... mommy can also make him feel better, however he loves being so goofy with his dadda and loves him too!
10. Independence ... he has learned to get out of chairs and off sofas all on his own. He loves to climb stairs at his grandparents house. We still are working on how to come back down the stairs.
11. Chase me ... He loves to crawl and be chased by anyone who will entertain the idea. He gets such a big smile and laughs when you try to catch him.

Wow, the year has almost gone by...one more month until his birthday and we can not wait to see the new skills he learns. We are so blessed to have him in our lives and we hope we can show him Christ love through us in the days and years to come.

Pine Cove Bluffs

We had a wonderful week at Pine Cove Family Camp!!! We were on a waiting list with the desire to go to Week #7 at the Bluffs camp in Tyler, TX. My sister, cousin and our friends the Freeman family all went this week and we were so fortunate to be able to go. On July 4th we got the call asking us if we still wanted to come to camp. We were so excited and signed ourselves up. The hustle to pack and get ready was fun, until Reid got sick on Friday afternoon. As a mom I was thinking God you opened up this opportunity, and with Reid sick...how are we still going to be able to go and not get everyone sick. I got him to the doctor and the antibiotics made him feel better and by Sunday right before we were going to load up he started playing and crawling around. I thanked Jesus and off we were to camp! Camps are always fun and filled with many activities. Reid had a great counselor named Cinder Bella who took care of him while mommy and daddy went water tubing, horseback riding, and Bible study. The Lord had us at camp this week to refuel our marriage and teach us both how to depend on the Lord for our needs. He also taught us how to establish our family with a passion to want to be like Jesus, and that we would teach His truths to our child. As soon as we returned home we felt the devil at work trying to kill and destroy the truths we hold in our hearts. Our prayer is that as we draw closer to Jesus that our home will be a reflection of Him, and his blessings/grace that He so easily gives to us.

Our verse from the week: 1 Peter 3:8-9 "Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, becuase to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing."
